Gold Winner, Home Theatre  |  2010 CEDIA Awards

This screening room was to be discrete, high quality and impactful, with a simple and dependable user interface. The client also wanted to maximize the seating area in the room. The key feature in the installation was the attention to technical excellence in reproducing the director’s intent while satisfying the client’s desire to have equipment hidden. Professional in-wall speakers were chosen for their accurate studio-quality sound. These were discretely concealed behind fabric panels. The subwoofer was placed in the racking room to keep it out of the theatre using a third-party patented bass delivery system that was then fed into the room behind a fabric panel. The location ofthe subwoofer was meticulously chosen using acoustic modelling. The use of acoustic and fabric panels with a perforated film screen allowed us to place the speakers in ideal locations following Dolby and THX recommended layouts for 7.1 screening rooms.
